In recent years Jonathan Byrd has emerged as one of the most versatile artists around, this new disc sees him head off in another direction again. ‘The Law and the Lonesome’ sees him using his Southern roots and the influence of the open spaces to create and epic, dust swept painting of the Southern landscape and its characters.
The disc is full of desperate people and their dark familiars in the form of crows, coyotes and sudden storms.
It’s a fantastic disc full of genuine character – full review to follow very shortly.
