The Halliard (Nic Jones, Dave Moran & Nigel Paterson) recorded these 15 songs as a demo for the famous Saga record label - the group were given a copy of the master tape, but the album was never released.
Recorded in 1968, the disc was remastered in 2005/6, with 3 extra tracks recorded over the past year. The sound quality is excellent throughout and the new tracks fit in well with the feel of the album.
Superb liner notes with comments on each track complete a superb package.
There are some memorable and rarely heard songs here, Miles Weatherhill and Sarah Bell, The Suffering of Charles Adolphus King and in particular Robin Hood which is full of energy and some tradmark guitar work from Nic.
The songs here complete the notation printed in the Halliard - Broadside Songs book; the Broadside Songs CD together with the Last Goodnight disc complete the audio recordings of the songs printed in the songbook.
