Over the past few years Amy has been quietly putting out a series of great pop/rock albums that seem have passed many people by - she's a divorced mum and most of her songs are set in a contemporary urban environment. Her writing is witty and brutally honest, and it's easy for the listener to relate to the situations in her songs.
From the opening track 'Like Rasputin' where she compares herself to the Russian mystic; through to 'The Trouble With Jeanie' where she questions why her new partners ex-wife has become a friend Amy will have the listening both laughing and offering a sympathetic nod of acknowledgement to the protagonists.
Intelligent lyrics backed up by memorable pop hooks and great musicianship. An excellent album.
