Following in the same musical vein as last months Kennedy's album, the Nields release their latest album this month. The folk-pop quintet are known for their strong melodies, gorgeous harmonies and excellent songwriting - the new album doesn't disappoint in any of these areas. Like the Kennedy's, they blur the lines between pop, rock and folk and draw on musical influences from the 60's onwards, and there are a mixture of acoustic and fuller sounding tracks throughout the disc. There is a real air of irreverence and fun around this album, but closer listening uncovers some serious and searching lyrics in amongst the catchy melodies. The album works on many levels, and the hidden depths to many of the songs ensure that this is an album that will suit those looking for an album that will reap rewards time and time again.
