MP3 and Real Audio Help

The audio files on Fish Records are stored in two different formats - for albums we added between 1999 and mid 2009 we used Real Audio, and from the Summer of 2009 onwards we moved to a Flash based MP3 player.

Both formats allow you to 'stream' the samples directly from our server, and you do not need to store them on your computer to play them.

Real Audio samples are available wherever you see LISTEN

MP3 samples on the the front page are available when you see

and for the individual album pages when you see

This text will be replaced by the flash music player.

Both the Real Audio and MP3 formats require a small amount of free software to run

Real Audio
some browsers come with this software already installed, or you can download it free of charge using the link below.

Real Audio software is updated fairly regularly, and downloading a newer version can bring noticeable improvements in sound quality, if you are using an old version of Real Audio, it may be beneficial to obtain a newer version.
