Gretchen Peters – Trio

Recorded in 2004 in Madisonville, KY this collection of 13 songs presents Gretchen's songs in their stripped bare concert interpretations, and with much of the studio polish and extra instrumentation taken away the strength of her songwriting and edgy vocals really come to the fore.

Those of you who know Peters’ writing will find the acoustic arrangements bring the focus back to the lyrics, and there’s extra depth and detail to the character studies and observations; those new to her music will initially be easily won over with the melodies and beautiful vocals before the lyrics hit home.

The songs are well chosen and are taken from all 3 albums and highlights include ‘Souvenirs’, ‘Museum’, and the always memorable ‘On a Bus to St. Cloud’.
