Fish Records Mailer Issue 15 (Jun/Jul 01)

This is possibly the strongest mailer we've ever had - the Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer disc 'Drum Hat Buddha' is certainly the best album we've covered in the 15 issues, and the remaining discs are of superb quality across a broad range of styles.
It's difficult to pick a few other albums out, but the Heather Eatman, Martin Simpson & Bill Morrissey discs are all superb, and would be great additions to any record collection.

Dave Carter & Tracy Grammer - Drum Hat Buddha

'Drum Hat Buddha' is an astonishing album - in a year when many of the big folk and singer/songwriter names are releasing albums, this disc looks likely to tower above them all. The follow up to last years excellent 'Tanglewood Tree'.... full review

The Kennedys - Positively Live!

While last year's 'Evolver' was a more produced album than those that had gone before it, this disc sees them together as a duo, just two guitars and their two voices. The fourteen tracks (including 7 never previously released).... full review

Christine Collister - An Equal Love

This mixture of self written tracks and well chosen covers is a departure from her usual acoustic based material, it has a big, produced sound with lots of instrumental layers.

Stripped down, acoustic country singer/songwriter with a real eye for detail - the songs are striking, filled with characters and situations that have a genuine ring of truth about them. This disc is in the same vein as.... full review
